Community Assistance Center

The Community Assistance Center of Myrtle Beach is finally getting a NEW Roof

New roof for the community

We are so excited to announce that the Community Assistance Center of Myrtle Beach is FINALLY getting a NEW Roof. With the help from Monarch Roofing and other various community members and businesses they have secured the funds and are ready to move forward with this project.

Community Kitchen of Myrtle Beach

The Community Assistance building houses the Community Kitchen of Myrtle Beach thathas been serving hot meals to our community for the past 23 years. A person may go to the Community Kitchen for a meal; however, they get way more. “The Community Kitchen strives to provide encouragement, direction, and nutritional assistance to promote growth and wholesome independence with respect and dignity. Every person who comes to us for assistance is welcomed, without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, religious preference, handicap or income.” Deacon Peter Casamento the Community Kitchen Executive Director.

Helping Hands of Myrtle Beach

It also houses Helping Hands of Myrtle Beach which is a crisis intervention and referral agency whose mission is to provide assistance to those in need in our community. Helping Hand provides food, rent and utility assistance, gasoline, local and long distance bus tickets, prescription medications, diapers, hygiene items and referrals to other appropriate agencies. Need help? Call 843-448-8451.

Major roof leaks

Considering the age of their facility they have experienced major roof leaks and even some extensive hail damage that insurance will not cover. The Community Assistance Building still needs funds raised to meet the final total of their Roof. We are asking for community members to join us at the Community Assistance Building of Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, June 1st2016 at 1:00pm when we award them the $5,000 check from Monarch Roofing and ‘weather permitting’ begin work on their roof! Please come and support this amazing business and consider helping put a roof over their head so they can continue to be a safe place for a hot meal and other assistance for many of our less fortunate community members. The Community Assistance center is dependent upon the support of the community, they do not receive any city, county or state funding.
