Four Tips For Finding the Right Contractor

Four Tips for Finding the Right Contractor

With so many different companies out there, it’s daunting to try to figure out who is the best contractor when it comes to home repairs – including a new roof. Hiring the right person for the job is crucial because if you don’t find the right person the first go-round, you’ll wind up having to go through the hassle to find someone who can, or will incur extra expenses. We want to help you to streamline your research to pick the expert who is right for you. As we like to say, let’s take the “con” out of “contractor.” Use these four tips to help you find a trusted expert:

Trusted Source
Has your neighbor, a friend or family member received services from this company? Nothing quite compares to getting a recommendation from a trusted source. We know that whether a person has a great experience or a really poor experience they’ll TALK! If it seems like a good fit for you, then go for it. If the recommendation from your source seems iffy, take it with a grain of salt!

Nextdoor
Have you ever heard of the Nextdoor app? It’s a great place for you to hear from your neighbors about local services, great places to eat, safety and security, etc.

Google and Facebook Reviews and Rankings
Due to Google and Facebook’s strict review policies, you know you’re good hands when you read reviews about a business. You should also check to see if the company responds to their reviews – at the least, the negative ones. You can tell a lot about a company based on how much they take in feedback.

Service Based Review Sites
Check out reviews from trusted sites such as Thumbtack, Angie’s List or Home Advisor where businesses have gone through a background check with the review site. You can rest assured that the contractor has been vetted through an accredited system and that they’re licensed, certified and do not have any criminal activity. These types of sites are ones that you must sign up with in order to view and or/give a review.
